JR West Japan must specifically educate young conductors on the parts that need to be checked on the platform, but it has been difficult to visually share the areas that experienced conductors observe during door operations while the train is stopped at the station, resulting in a reliance on verbal instructions. Therefore, we introduced "eye tracking." The young conductors tended to direct most of their gaze towards the platform and only glanced at the monitoring screen for a moment, while the veteran conductors alternated their gaze between the platform and the monitoring screen at the moment of closing the doors, confirming that they were visually checking both.
